Barium Carbonate, also known as Barium Monocarbonate, Barium(+2) Cation Carbonate, Pigment White 10, and Witherite, has the chemical formula BaCO3 or CBaO3. It appears as a white crystalline heavy powder with no odor and taste. It is insoluble in Water, but soluble in Acids at ambient conditions. On a commercial scale, it is commonly produced by two methods named the Soda Ash method and the Carbon Dioxide based method. Purified Grade, also known as Pure or Practical Grade, refers to those high-purity compounds that do not fulfill the ACS, the USP, or the FCC grade requirements.
