Description

Mercuric Iodide, also known as Mercuric Iodide Red, Diiodomercury, Mercury Diiodide and Mercury (II) Iodide has the chemical formula HgI2. It appears as a scarlet-red, tasteless, odorless powder. At elevated temperatures, it turns yellow but turns back to red upon cooling. It is insoluble in Water and sinks in it at ambient conditions.
