Lab Alley currently is seeking a full-time Accounting Associate to join our fast growing Science e-commerce company in Austin, Texas. This is an awesome full time career opportunity that will evolve in growth in responsibility and compensation. You will be the leader in the accounting department. You will be working closely with executive team members who will need you to jump in on projects in a variety of capacities. You should be able to move tasks along without micromanagement, be eager to solve problems quickly, and always be looking to improve process and efficiency.

To be successful in this role, you should be well-organized, deadline-oriented, quick to respond to new tasks, know which questions to ask in order to get the job done, have great time management skills, and be able to act with little guidance. The ideal candidate for this position has 2+ years of professional accounting experience with a track record for providing timely and accurate work.

Specific - Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Accounting in Quickbooks. Perform all accounting work from A-Z to be done in QuickBooks and other additional accounting tasks as it related to the company’s financials. Also, interact with external bookkeeper, CPA firm, and others to make sure all companies’ financials are current and accurate.

  • Financial Reporting. Ensure all financial reports are current, accurate, and available to generate (Profit and loss, balance sheet, inventory, sales tax, etc.).

  • Accounts Receivable (A/R). Help to collect money from customers through various tasks (capture payment from website orders, invoice orders from business customers, etc.).

  • Accounts Payable (A/P). Ensure payables are accurate and paid on-time, and develop costs savings strategies to improve the company’s financials (Generate purchase orders, review and reconcile bills, bill paying, etc.).

  • Business Customer Set-Up and Onboarding. Set-up and onboard new business customers that want to do business by submitting new purchase orders.

  • Work with Internal and External Teams and Resources. Work with both internal teams (CEO, management, etc.) and external resources (third-party bookkeeper, CPA firm, etc.) to continually improve the company financials.

  • Financial Security. Maintain financial security by following internal controls.

  • Confidentiality. Maintain customer confidence and protect operations by keeping financial information confidential.

  • Organizational Systems. Maintain organized filing system (physical and electronic).

  • Accounting Policies and Procedures. Adhere to all best practices in accounting principles.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) related
  • Solid organizational skills.

  • Excellent time management skills.

  • Excellent phone, email and instant messaging communication skills.

  • Data entry skills, organization, and multi-tasking are required.

  • Full-time hours: 40 hours per week. Hours are worked during the business week.

  • Work in office. This is not a virtual position. Person must come into the office each day.

  • Work schedule: Monday to Friday 9am - 6pm.

Requirements:

  • QuickBooks Proficient

  • Accounting: 2 years (Preferred) 

  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or in an area (Preferred)
