Description

Ferric Nitrate, also known as Ferric Nitrate Hydrate and Iron(III) Nitrate Nonahydrate, usually appears in its nonahydrate form having the chemical formula Fe(NO3)-9H2O or FeH18N3O18. It appears as Off-white to violet odorless hygroscopic crystals and is soluble in water, alcohol, acetone at ambient conditions. When heated to decomposition, it emits corrosive and/or toxic fumes of Nitrogen Oxides (NOx). Laboratory grade is also known as the Chemically Pure (CP) and Laboratory Reagent (LR).   • What is the mixture ratio, water to crystals, when mixing Ferric Nitrate nonahydrate ACS for etching silver. I have 125g bottle. Thanks in advance.

    Usually it 1 part Ferric Nitrate Crystals in 2 parts of DI water. Always add crystals in water. Use protective rubber gloves, goggles and perform in a well ventilated space. Refer SDS prior working.
