Lab Alley’s Ferric Oxide Brown, also known as Iron(III) oxide, Iron Trioxide, Umber, and Iron Oxide fume, appears as brown air/moisture sensitive powder and is insoluble in Water at ambient conditions. It is one of the key oxides of Iron, the other being Iron(II) Oxide (FeO), and Iron(II,III) Oxide (Fe3O4) that is naturally found as Magnetite. Iron Oxides, in general, have different pigments ranging from red and brown to black and yellow. Lab grade chemicals possess reasonable purity but do not comply with any official standard for quality or purity like the ACS Grade, the USP Grade, or the FCC Grade. The Lab Grade is also known as Laboratory Reagent (LR) and Chemically Pure (CP). Lab Alley’s Ferric Oxide Red, Lab Grade is recommended for educational institutes, research labs, and commercial applications.
