About Ferrous Ammonium Sulfate Crystal, ACS Grade
Ferrous Ammonium Sulfate Crystal also known as Mohr's salt, is an inorganic chemical with the formula (NH4)2Fe(SO4)2(H2O)6. Ferrous Ammonium Sulfate is a 2:1:2 mixture of Ammonium, Iron, and Sulfate ions. It is a common laboratory reagent because it crystallizes easily and does not oxidize when exposed to air. Because it includes two different cations, Fe2+ and NH4+, it is classified as a double salt of Ferrous Sulfate and Ammonium Sulfate. Due of its long shelf life and resistance to oxidation, this salt is the preferred source of Ferrous ions in analytical chemistry. Any chemical that fulfills the ACS (American Chemical Society) purity criteria is referred to as the ACS Grade reagent. ACS Grade reagents can be used in high quality research labs for reliable, consistent and repetitive results. Lab Alley’s Ferrous Ammonium Sulfate Crystal, ACS Grade is highly recommended for commercial, industrial, and lab applications.
