Description

Potassium Dichromate, also known as Potassium Bichromate, Dipotassium Dichromate, and Dichromic Acid-Dipotassium salt, has the chemical formula K2Cr2O7 or Cr2K2O7. It appears as orange to red crystalline powder or granules with no odor and a bitter metallic taste. It is partly soluble in Water but insoluble in Alcohol at ambient conditions. On an industrial scale, it is produced by roasting chrome ore with potassium carbonate. It is also preferably produced by reacting sodium dichromate with potassium chloride. Upon exposure, Potassium dichromate can severely irritate the eyes and respiratory tract. It is a known human carcinogen and may cause cancer of the lungs or sino-nasal cavity upon long-term exposure. An ACS Grade reagent is a chemical that meets the purity requirements of the American Chemical Society. For dependable, consistent, and repeatable findings, ACS Grade reagents can be utilized in high-quality research labs. In the United States of America (USA), Lab Alley sells its high-quality Potassium Dichromate, ACS Grade, online at laballey.com.
