Description

Zinc Stearate, also known as Stearic Acid Zinc Salt, Octadecanoic Acid, Zinc Dioctadecanoate, and Zinc Distearate, has the chemical formula C36H70O4Zn or [CH3(CH2)16COO]2Zn. It appears as a beige to white hydrophobic powder or granules with a slight, characteristic odor. It is soluble in Benzene and insoluble in Water, Alcohol, and Ether at ambient conditions. It can be produced in a variety of different ways. Commonly, the Zinc Sulfate solution is reacted with the Sodium Stearate solution to produce Zinc Stearate, which is then washed and dried. A USP Grade chemical is the one that conforms to the criteria of the United States Pharmacopeia (USP). A substance that has received the USP Grade certification can be used in food, drug, or medical applications. Due to the high purity, our Zinc Stearate is a USP Grade chemical. In the United States of America (USA), Lab Alley is selling its high-quality Zinc Stearate, USP Grade online at laballey.com.
