Diethylene Glycol Monobutyl Ether is also known as Butyl Carbitol, Butyl Digol, and 2-(2- Butoxyethoxy) Ethanol. It appears as a clear, odorless liquid with a high boiling point at ambient conditions.
It performs the function of an aprotic solvent and helps to improve the gloss of baking enamels, and acts as a coalescent in architectural/industrial maintenance formulations. This solvent can also be used to speed up the drying time of printing inks and is effective in removing contaminants in industrial and institutional cleaners. It is also employed in solvent-sensitive plastic substrate coatings.
