Silver Carbonate, also known as Silver carbonate, Silver(I) Carbonate, Fetizon's Reagent, and Disilver Carbonate, has the chemical formula Ag2CO3 or CAg2O3. It appears as yellow to brown powder or chunks with no odor. It is insoluble in Water and Alcohol at ambient conditions. When heated to decomposition, it emits toxic fumes of Carbon Oxides and Silver Oxide. It can be conveniently converted into other Silver compounds, such as the Oxide by heating (calcination). Lab Grade is also known as Laboratory Reagent (LR) and Chemically Pure (CP). Lab-gradechemicals possess reasonable purity but do not comply with any official standards for quality or purity.
