Description

Trichloroaluminum, or Aluminum Chloride, is a chemical compound with the formula AlCl₃ . At room temperature, it appears as a white crystalline solid. It is non-flammable but corrosive in nature and reacts violently upon contact with water. The most common Lewis Acid is anhydrous Aluminum Trichloride, which is used as a Lewis base in several chemical applications. It is an active ingredient in antiperspirant products and its use is certified by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
