Copper Sulfate, also known as Cupric Sulphate, Blue Stone, and Copper Sulfate Anhydrous has the chemical formula CuSO4. It is a salt of mineral Copper and appears as grayish white to white rhombic crystal or amorphous powder with a pleasant odor. It is highly soluble in hot Water and soluble in cold Water. Lab Alley’s Copper Sulfate contains 100% pure Copper Sulfate and is prepared by treating Copper Oxide with Sulfuric Acid. This reaction forms bright blue crystals containing five Water molecules (CuSO4-5H2O). its anhydrous salt is formed by heating the hydrate to 150 °C. Due to its high purity Copper Sulfate is highly recommended for labs and commercial applications.
