Varsol trademark refers to a series of traditional aliphatic solvents used in industrial, professional, and consumer goods applications. Having boiling range (140 – 200OC) similar to mineral spirits or white spirits, they are predominantly saturated aliphatic and cyclic C 7 to C 12 hydrocarbons (maximum aromatic content is 25%). Although Varsol Solvent is a petroleum distillate but it is quite different from petroleum products such as kerosene and gasoline. They have same number of carbons in their structure, but kerosene and gasoline and are used as fuel. Whereas, Varsol Solvent is typically designed for cleaning purposes in industries and not suitable to be used as fuel.
These items are not marketed to the general public, although they can be used as ingredients in industrial, consumer, and commercial products such as gasoline additives, paints and coatings, industrial cleaning, and process fluids.
