Cobalt Chloride Crystal is available as Cobalt(II) Chloride Dihydrate and Cobalt(II) chloride hexahydrate. Lab Alley’s Cobalt Chloride is Cobalt(II) Chloride Dihydrate having the chemical formula Cl2CoH4O2 or CoCl2-2H2O. It appears as violet-blue hygroscopic crystals having good solubility in water at ambient conditions. Cobalt(II) Chloride Dihydrate can be prepared in aqueous solution by reacting Cobalt(II) Hydroxide or Cobalt(II) Carbonate with Hydrochloric Acid. The solid dihydrate is then obtained by evaporation and cooling of the saturated aqueous solution between 120.2 °C and 51.25 °C. Chemicals in the Reagent Grade category have high purity and are best suited for analytical purposes. They're useful in research investigations as they produce consistent, trustworthy, and repeatable findings. In the United States of America (USA), Lab Alley sells its high-quality Cobalt Chloride Crystal, Reagent Grade online at laballey.com.
