CoreChemicals for Oil, Gas & Energy Operations
Lab/Technical and ACS-grade brine salts, stimulation acids, solvents, methanol and sampling equipment — with SDS and lot COAs online, and sizes from a pint to a 275-gallon tote.
What you need at each step
From the wellsite to the refinery lab, pick chemicals by the job they do in your operation. Each one links to its product page with grades, sizes and documents.
- 01
Drilling & completion
Chloride salts build brines for drilling, completion and workover fluids.
- 02
Well stimulation
Acids dissolve scale and open formation pathways during acidizing work.
- 03
Gas treating & hydrates
Methanol helps prevent hydrates; amines are used to remove acid gases.
- 04
Cleaning & paraffin
Aromatic and aliphatic solvents clear paraffin, oil residue and equipment deposits.
- 05
Sampling & handling
Samplers pull representative product from drums and storage tanks.
- 06
Lab testing & QC
Solvents and titrants support hydrocarbon analysis and acid number testing.

SupportingWhich grade does your job need?
Field and plant work usually runs on Lab/Technical grade. Reserve ACS, Reagent and HPLC grades for lab methods where purity drives the result.
See our certifications →| Grade | What it means | For nutrient blending | Typical use |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lab/Technical | Industrial purity for field, plant and maintenance jobs | Yes | Brines, acidizing, cleaning |
| ACS | Meets American Chemical Society reagent specifications | Yes — where purity matters | Lab methods, sensitive blends |
| Reagent | Standardized concentration for analytical methods | No | Titrations, fluid analysis |
| HPLC | High purity, low residue for chromatography | No | Chromatography, hydrocarbon analysis |
| USP/FCC | Meets pharmacopeia or Food Chemicals Codex standards | No | Not needed for field use |
What energy buyers check before they buy
- Grade & purity
- Match the COA to your job or test method — field work rarely needs reagent purity.
- Concentration
- Acid and brine strength sets your dilution math; confirm it on the label and COA.
- Water content
- Moisture in methanol and solvents can affect hydrate control and lab results.
- Packaging & size
- Drums and totes should fit your transfer pumps, trailers and site storage.
- Hazmat & delivery
- Acids and flammables may need commercial delivery and hazmat handling to remote sites.
Paperwork for your safety program
Hydrofluoric acid and other corrosives need specific handling, PPE and first aid plans. Confirm requirements with your HSE or regulatory team.
From lab bench to field supply
Same grade, same documentation at every size. Test a pint in the lab, then scale to drums and totes for field and plant use.
Energy, Oil & Gas buyer questions
What chemicals are used in completion and workover brines?
Calcium chloride, potassium chloride and magnesium chloride are common brine salts. Your fluid program sets the salt, density and additives, so confirm against your engineering spec.
Do you sell hydrochloric and hydrofluoric acid for acidizing?
Yes. We offer hydrochloric acid solutions and hydrofluoric acid in several strengths. Hydrofluoric acid needs specific PPE, handling and first aid plans, and may ship only to commercial addresses.
Why is methanol used in gas operations?
Methanol is widely used to help prevent hydrate formation in gas lines and equipment. Dosing depends on your conditions and should follow your engineering guidance.
Can I get a COA and SDS for each product?
Yes. The SDS and a lot-specific Certificate of Analysis are available online for every product.
Do your products meet ASTM or API test method requirements?
We don't certify products to specific test methods. Compare the lot COA with the requirements in your method or spec before use.
Can you supply drums and totes for field operations?
Yes. Request a quote for drums, totes or recurring volumes, or call 512-668-9918.
