Many fragrance makers use SDA 40B ethanol, which is denatured for use in cosmetics and topicals. SDA alcohol orders of 5 gallons or more require a TTB permit.
No. Denatured and SDA alcohols are not for ingestible products. For products that may be ingested, use undenatured USP/FCC ethanol.

Sodium hydroxide makes bar soap and potassium hydroxide makes liquid and soft soap. Both are corrosive, so follow the SDS for handling and storage.
