Mercuric Chloride, also known as Mercury(II) Chloride, Dichloromercury, Sublimate, and Mercury Bichloride, appears as white, odorless hygroscopic crystals or powder having the chemical formula HgCl2 or Cl2Hg. It is insoluble in water and highly toxic that is able to volatize slightly at ambient conditions and appreciably at 100 o C.
