About Cupric Acetate Purified
Cupric Acetate Monohydrate, also known as Copper(II) Acetate Monohydrate, Copper
Diacetate Monohydrate, and Neutral Verdigris, has the chemical formula (CH3COO)2Cu-H2O
or C4H6CuO4. It appears as a blue-green crystalline hygroscopic powder with no odor. It is
soluble in Water and Alcohol at ambient conditions. When heated to decomposition it emits
acrid smoke & irritating fumes. It is commonly prepared in the lab by the reaction of Acetic
Acid with Copper Oxide or Copper Carbonate. Purified Grade, also known as Pure or Practical
Grade, refers to those high-purity compounds that do not fulfill the ACS, the USP, or the FCC
grade requirements. They are mostly used in conjunction with Lab Grade chemicals. In the
United States of America (USA), Lab Alley is selling its high-quality Cupric Acetate, Purified
