Education

We support growth and education in the science field.

Our chemicals are used in universities, high schools, and colleges to help students learn about chemistry and chemical engineering.

Many of our products are used for competitive events and projects for science fairs.

Hydrogen Peroxide
Hydrogen Peroxide is a chemical compound that can be used in a variety of ways. In low concentrations, hydrogen peroxide can be used as an antiseptic, an oxidizer, and as a bleaching agent. At higher concentrations, hydrogen peroxide becomes heavily regulated and is used mainly for industrial purposes. In an educational setting, a fun science experiment that utilizes a lower dilution of hydrogen peroxide is making Elephant Toothpaste. A 3% or 6% concentration is used along with yeast, dish soap, warm water, and food coloring (For a pop of color!). Mix it together in a plastic bottle and observe the reaction. A higher concentration will create a more distinct, foam-like result.
Sodium Bicarbonate
Sodium Bicarbonate, more commonly known as Baking Soda, is another chemical used in a very popular science experiment seen at science fairs nationwide, for many years. The erupting volcano! This fun experiment shows the chemical reaction between sodium bicarbonate and acetic acid (vinegar), which generates a carbon dioxide gas. Add a little food coloring and the final result will mimic the appearance of lava flowing out of a volcano. Other than being used for science experiments, sodium bicarbonate has several health benefits including increasing athletic performance, improving oral and digestive health, and even improving kidney function.
Ethanol
The world of chemical engineering is a vast one, and when individuals enter into this field of study they can expect to learn about the operation and design of chemical plants, improving upon different production methods, and commercial processes to convert raw materials into other useful products. Ethanol is a product that is manufactured from corn, sugar cane, and other raw materials that become highly beneficial on a global scale. As a renewable fuel source, ethanol provides increased power and performance and increases engine efficiency. The use of corn-based ethanol in transportation has also greatly reduced greenhouse gas emissions that are released into the environment.
