About Denatured Ethyl Alcohol
Denaturing of Ethanol is made by adding other chemicals such as Ethyl Ether, Methanol, etc. Denatured ethanol has a bitter taste and a pungent smell, due to its poisonous nature. The composition, 140 Proof (70%) of ethanol means that it contains only 70% contents of pure ethanol mixed with other additives for denaturing. The presence of water recedes evaporation of the solution, making it more effective against microbial pathogens compared to the high purity (>90%) Alcohols. Denatured alcohol uses include, sanitization and anti-bacterial applications in crowded places, such as restaurants, malls, offices, etc.
