Magnesium metal is light silvery in appearance and found in abundance in mineral salts, namely Dolomite and Magnesium Carbonate. It has no odor and produces Hydrogen Gas through a vigorous reaction upon contact with Water. It slowly oxidizes in moist air and can be easily ignited in ribbon or finely divided form giving an intense white flame. It can be produced on commercial scale by electrolytic reduction of magnesium chloride or thermal reduction of magnesium oxide. Magnesium Metal Ribbon is also sold as Magnesium turnings or Magnesium sticks. In the USA, Lab Alley is selling its high-quality Magnesium Metal Ribbon online at laballey.com. Due to its high purity, this Lab Alley product is highly recommended for domestic, labs and commercial applications.
