It is a Nickel coordination entity made up of Ammonium, Nickel, and Sulfate in 2:1:2 ratios. When heated, it breaks down into a poisonous gas comprised of metallic Nickel, Sulfur oxides, and Nitrogen oxides. At room temperature, it appears as a green crystalline solid with no odor.
