Potassium Bromide, also known as Bromide Salt of Potassium, and Hydrobromic Acid Potassium Salt, have the chemical formula BrK or KBr. It appears as odorless colorless crystals or white crystalline powder or white granular solid with a pungent bitter saline taste and is soluble in Water at ambient conditions. When heated to decomposition it emits toxic fumes of potassium oxide and hydrogen bromides. It can be produced by mixing and heating iron bromide with potassium carbonate. Purified Grade, also known as Pure or Practical Grade, refers to those high-purity compounds that do not fulfill the ACS, the USP, or the FCC grade requirements. They are mostly used in conjunction with Lab Grade chemicals. In the United States of America (USA), Lab Alley is selling its high-quality Potassium Bromide, Purified online at laballey.com.
