About Sodium Hydroxide 20% Solution

Sodium Hydroxide is an inorganic chemical that at ambient temperature appears as a white crystalline solid. It's also called "caustic" because of its strong basic nature, which releases a lot of heat when combined with water or neutralized with an acid. Its solution is very corrosive to metals and can cause severe irritation to skin tissues, eyes, and mucous membranes upon contact.

When 20 g pure Sodium Hydroxide is added to 80 mL Deionized Water, it makes up the 20% (w/v) solution of Sodium Hydroxide.
