About Sodium Hydroxide 25% Analytical Reagent Grade
Sodium Hydroxide is an inorganic chemical that at ambient temperature appears as a white crystalline solid. It's also called "caustic" because of its strong basic nature, which releases a lot of heat when combined with water or neutralized with an acid. Its solution is very corrosive to metals and can cause severe irritation to skin tissues, eyes, and mucous membranes upon contact.
When 25 g pure Sodium Hydroxide is added to 75 mL Deionized Water, it makes up the 25% (w/v) solution of Sodium Hydroxide. The Analytical Reagent Grade of chemicals has a high purity and is best suited for analytical purposes. They are important for research applications because of their results that are consistent, trustworthy, and reproducible.
