Isopropanol and water do not separate cleanly past about 91 percent; they form an azeotrope, so ordinary distillation stalls there. Getting to 99.8 percent means extra processing, and that is reflected in what you pay compared to 70 or 91 percent product. Once you are at this purity, roughly 0.2 percent water is left, small enough that evaporation is fast and residue is minimal. Aside from that, it is the same chemical you would expect: colorless, volatile, Class IB flammable, with a flashpoint around 12°C (53°F).
