Mercuric Oxide, also known as Mercury(II) oxide or Mercury oxide, appears as red or orange-red, odorless hygroscopic crystals, powder or scales having the chemical formula HgO. It is insoluble in Water and can undergo decomposition upon exposure to light/air into Mercury and Oxygen. An ACS Grade reagent is a chemical that meets the purity requirements of the American Chemical Society (ACS). It is generally equivalent to the Analytical Reagent Grade.
