List Of All Chemical Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS/SDS) PDFs

Lab Alley's chemical Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) provide chemical buyers, warehouse managers, students, laboratory managers, researchers, workers, and emergency personnel with the proper procedures for handling a pure chemical, along with information for what to do in an emergency situation involving the chemical.

Overview

Safety Data Sheets are used worldwide to document the hazards and properties of individual chemicals and other materials used in commerce.

A safety data sheet, material safety data sheet, or product safety data sheet are documents that list information relating to occupational safety and health for the use of various substances and products. SDSs are a widely used system for cataloging information on chemicals, chemical compounds, and chemical mixtures.

SDSs are part of the Globally Harmonized System for Hazard Communication (GHS). The GHS sets internationally agreed-to standards for hazard testing, warning pictograms, and more..

An SDS (formerly known as MSDS) includes information such as the properties of each chemical; the physical, health, and environmental health hazards; protective measures; and safety precautions for handling, storing, and transporting the chemical.

OSHA requires that every SDS provide information outlined in all of the following 16 categories:

  • Identification
  • Hazard(s) identification
  • Composition/information on ingredients
  • First-aid measures
  • Fire-fighting measures
  • Accidental release measures
  • Handling and storage
  • Exposure controls/personal protection
  • Physical and chemical properties
  • Stability and reactivity
  • Toxicological information
  • Ecological information
  • Disposal considerations
  • Transport information
  • Regulatory information
  • Other information
