Celebrating Earth Day and Beyond
April 18, 2023
Lab Alley, an award-winning certified women owned chemical distribution company, announced their partnership with sustainability solutions organization, Ecodrive. For every purchase made on the company’s e-commerce website Lab Alley and will plant a Mangrove tree.
This effort goes beyond celebrating Earth Day. Mangrove trees are important in the fight against climate change because they naturally capture and store carbon dioxide, while also providing other ecological and socioeconomic benefits. As part of the Company's Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy, Lab Alley is committed to restoration, sustainability, and doing their part to offset carbon footprints.
“Our team is so excited to be part of giving back by planting Mangrove trees,” said Lab Alley CEO Holly Elabed. The fact that our team and Ecodrive are working together to help break the poverty cycle, protect important coastlines, and air quality bring a new level of pride to our work across the organization.”
Lab Alley selected Ecodrive because their use of sophisticated on-the-ground monitoring, data verification through the application of blockchain technology to improve transparency and trust in the tree-planting process. This process ensures trees will notbe double-counted or misattributed and allows Ecodrive to track overall survivability, measuring real climate impact over time.
