can barium sulfate be used in plant growth. and where in mn can it be purchased and size comparative (equil to)
Barium sulfate (BaSO4) can be used in soil to decrease the availability of barium (Ba) to plants. Barium is a non-essential element that can be toxic to plants and cause growth issues and homeostasis disturbances. When sulfur (S) is present in the soil, it can cause Ba to precipitate as BaSO4, a compound with very low solubility. This can reduce the amount of Ba available to plants and decrease its toxicity.
