About Butyric Acid FCC Grade
Butyric Acid, also known as n-Butyric Acid, n-Butanoic Acid, Butyric Acid has the molecular formula C4H8O2. It appears as a colorless liquid with an unpleasant and penetrating odor. It is a saturated short-chain fatty acid with a 4-Carbon backbone and is commonly found in esterified form in plant oils and animal fats. It is miscible in Water, Ether, Ethanol and slightly soluble in Carbon Tetrachloride.
