Peppermint Oil, also named Mentha piperita, is a colorless, pale greenish-yellow or pale yellow liquid. It has a strong, characteristic odor of peppermint and taste followed by a sensation of cold. Peppermint Oil is an essential oil that is obtained by steam distillation from the aerial parts of flowering plants of Mentha piperita-L. It is miscible with Alcohol, Methylene Chloride, and in most vegetable oils, but insoluble in Propylene Glycol.
