Ferric Sulfate 50% solution is the hydrate of Iron(3+) Sulfate that appears as reddish-brown odorless solution, is water soluble, and sparingly soluble in alcohol at ambient conditions. When heated to decomposition, it can produce explosive hydrogen gas. Lab Alley’s Ferric Sulfate solution is an aqueous solution of Ferric Sulfate Nonahydrate (chemical formula Fe2H18O21S3 or Fe2(SO4)3-9H2O) that has been slightly acidified with Sulfuric Acid (1-3% by weight). It is usually manufactured by reacting high purity Iron Ore with Sulfuric Acid and adding deionized water to make 50% solution. In the United States of America (USA), Lab Alley sells its high-quality Ferric Sulfate 50% solution online at laballey.com and highly recommends its use in labs and commercial applications.
