Magnesium Sulfate, also known as Magnesium Sulfate Heptahydrate, Magnesium Sulfate Heptahydrate, and Epsom Salt, is often available as heptahydrate of Magnesium(2+) Sulfate having the chemical formula H14MgO11S or MgSO4-7H2O. It appears as white, odorless hygroscopic crystals or powder and is soluble in water, alcohol at ambient conditions. Lab grade chemicals possess reasonable purity but do not comply with any official standard for quality or purity like the ACS Grade, the USP Grade, or the FCC Grade. The Lab Grade is also known asLaboratory Reagent (LR) and Chemically Pure (CP).
