About Ferrous Gluconate USP Grade
Ferrous Gluconate Dihydrate, also known as Iron(II) D-Gluconate Dihydrate and Iron(II) Gluconate Dihydrate, has the chemical formula C12H22FeO14-2H2O or C12H26FeO16. It appears as a pale greenish-yellow to yellowish-grey powder or granules having a faint odor of burnt sugar. It is affected by light and ferrous ion slowly oxidizes on exposure to air. It is soluble in lukewarm Water in ambient conditions. A USP Grade chemical is the one that conforms to the criteria of the United States Pharmacopeia (USP).
