Magnesium Sulfate, also known as Magnesium Sulfate Heptahydrate, Magnesium Sulphate Heptahydrate, and Epsom Salt, is often available as heptahydrate of Magnesium(2+) Sulfate having the chemical formula H14MgO11S or MgSO4-7H2O. Its solution appears as colorless, odorless liquid with saline, bitter taste and is miscible with water at ambient conditions. Lab Alley’s Magnesium Sulfate 0.5M solution is composed of 12.32 wt.% of Magnesium Sulfate Heptahydrate in its aqueous solution. Lab grade chemicals possess reasonable purity but do not comply with any official standard for quality or purity like the ACS Grade, the USP Grade, or the FCC Grade. The Lab Grade is also known as Laboratory Reagent (LR) and Chemically Pure (CP). Lab Alley’s Magnesium Sulfate 0.5M solution is a Lab Grade chemical and is recommended for educational institutes, research labs, and commercial applications.
