About Malic Acid, FCC Grade

Malic Acid, also known as DL-Malic Acid, 2-Hydroxysuccinic Acid has the chemical formula C4H6O5. It appears as a colorless to nearly white crystalline powder or triclinic crystals. It has a characteristic odor with a sour taste. It is highly soluble in Ethanol, Methanol, Ether, and Acetone. Lab Alley’s Malic Acid is highly pure and plays a key role as a fundamental metabolite and food acidity regulator. An FCC Grade chemical is the one that conforms to the criteria of the Food Chemicals Codex (FCC). A substance that has received the FCC Grade can be used in food, drug, or medical applications.
